# Build a room-aware auction sheet: budgets, needs, tiers and live inflation

Print a tier sheet, but bring a second sheet for the room. Your player values are only half the auction model; the other half is who can still bid and what they still need.

## The live ledger

For every manager, track budget, open roster slots, starting RB/WR/TE/QB needs, and whether the manager has already bought a player in each tier. Mark every purchase immediately. A manager with $50 remaining but seven open slots is not your true competitor for a $25 player; a manager with $31 and two open slots is.

## Inflation calculation

Do not call the entire room “inflated” because the first player went for too much. Inflation is position- and tier-specific. If the room has spent $100 above your sheet on five elite RB/WR players, those dollars are gone. Remaining players may be fairly priced or even cheap relative to the new budget distribution.

## Your bid card

- **Green:** buy up to ceiling.
- **Yellow:** buy only at discount.
- **Red:** nominate to drain rivals, but do not bid.

The best auction manager is not the one with the most accurate preseason list. It is the one who notices the room's mistake before the room notices the consequence.
