TE auction tiers 2026: buy the weekly edge or punt cleanly
Tight end is the position where a top-heavy league can trick you twice: first by making the elite names expensive, then by making you panic when the tier appears thin.
Current tiers

The next group is much less clean: Dallas Goedert, Darren Waller, Sam LaPorta, Dalton Kincaid, Kyle Pitts, Harold Fannin Jr., Hunter Henry and Travis Kelce sit in a broad middle band. That is exactly where your price discipline matters.
Two acceptable approaches
- Pay for a real edge: buy one of the top four only if the auction price creates a weekly difference rather than merely buying a famous logo.
- Wait for structure: spend a few dollars on a mid-tier starter and preserve money for RB/WR. Do not buy two mediocre TEs to “secure the position.”
