# RB auction tiers 2026: buy workload before the standard-scoring cliff

Running back is the position where patience can become self-sabotage. DraftCall measures an 8.3 PPG gap from RB1 to RB24 in standard scoring, the steepest dropoff in its current scarcity report. You can wait out inflated prices—but you still need to buy before the playable supply disappears.

## Tier map

**Tier 1:** Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs (17.0-18.6 PPG).

**Tier 2:** De'Von Achane, James Cook and Derrick Henry.

**Tier 3:** Josh Jacobs, Kyren Williams, Cam Skattebo, Javonte Williams, Travis Etienne and Chase Brown.

## The auction move

If the first four backs go nuclear, do not panic-buy the fifth. Buy two players from the next tier at prices that leave room for WR. But do not wait until every Tier 1-3 back is gone and call it discipline. In this format, you want one high-confidence workload anchor or two strong Tier 2/3 values.
