Last week’s touchdowns are loud. This week’s role is usually more useful.

For start/sit decisions, look at routes, touches, red-zone opportunities, opponent tendencies, and expected game script before you look at the box score. A player can score twice on five lucky touches and still be a bad bet the next week.

Use touchdowns as part of the story—not the entire scouting report.
