# Handcuffs worth drafting—and backups you can leave on waivers

Not every backup running back is a handcuff. Some are just a guy who happens to be standing nearby.

A real handcuff has a believable path to a large workload, fits the offense, and would be hard for the team to replace with a committee. A backup with twelve touches a game in the best-case scenario is not the same asset.

Draft the backups whose value is connected to a specific role, not every second-string player with a cool preseason highlight.
